QMDI is a joint venture partnership between the Qatar Foundation and Singex Global. QMDI is governed by a Board of Directors and chaired by Rashid Fahad Al-Naimi, who also holds the position of VP Administration, Qatar Foundation.

Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development is a private, chartered, nonprofit organization, founded in 1995 by HH Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of Qatar. Qatar Foundation's aim is to prepare the people of Qatar and the region to meet the challenges of an every-changing world and to make Qatar a leader in innovative education and research.
Singex Global
Singex Global's partners have vast experience in the MICE industry; they are managers of one of the largest venues in Asia, Singapore Expo; as well industry specialists in Middle East markets and media streams.
