QMDI to Host MPI's Global Events Training Program in Qatar


Meeting Professionals International (MPI) partners with Qatar MICE Development Institute (QMDI) to run the Global Certificate in Meetings & Business Events level 2 (GCMBE II)

 

Doha, Qatar - (15 November 2009) Due to the massive development of the meeting and event infrastructure in Qatar and the growing number of event professionals, Qatar MICE Development Institute (QMDI) has announced that it will be hosting the second level of Global Certificate in Meetings and Business Events (GCMBE II).

 

The training will take place on 13th - 17th December 2009 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Doha. The course is developed by Meeting Professionals International (MPI) as part of their global training which aims to train meeting and event professionals at every level of their career, from the basics of meeting operations and logistics up to the executive leadership level.

 

MPI is the world's largest association for meeting and events professionals. The body of knowledge created by MPI will define the necessary skills and competencies that are needed in meeting management and will provide a supporting arm to the growing local 'MICE' sector which is emerging in Qatar. The QMDI / MPI partnership has created a platform for event professionals to gain valuable industry skills and receive their internationally recognized qualification.

 

The GCMBE II is delivered by renowned international MPI trainers who deliver premier industry skills and global best practice in event organizing and management. The course offers a comprehensive understanding and practical knowledge of event organization, management and operations and covers the following topics:

  • Meeting & Business Event Logistics
  • Destination & Venue Management
  • Contract Evaluation & Monitoring
  • Monitoring Project Budgets

The 5 day training includes is course material, a student assessment, daily lunch and refreshments; with a delegate fee is $2500. Once completed, participants receive their internationally recognized certificate.
